If you are planning to sell on eBay, you will need an eBay seller account. If you don’t have one yet, you’ll need to register. You can choose between a personal or business account.
If you don’t have a registered business, a personal account is the best option.
If you already have an eBay account, you can access this section.
How to start your eBay business in two simple steps:
1. Register on the eBay site on which you want to sell.
You will have to choose between personal account or business account. If you select to create a personal account, you will always be able to change it to a business account in the future. Once you have entered the required details, click on Register.
2. Become an eBay seller
1. Click on “Sell” at the top right.
You will access your account dashboard as a registered user. In order to become an eBay seller, you now have to Click Sell at the top right of your dashboard. Doing so will guide you through all the steps to follow in order to to list a product and complete the seller registration.
2. List an item on your eBay account
Click on “List an item” and fill in the brand, model or type of product. You need to publish your first listing in order to become a seller.
- Select the category and the condition ( new, used…) and fill in as many specifics as possible. Then, click on “View possible matches“.
- Provide your contact details.
- Fill in the title, item specifics recommended by eBay and add the photos.
- Enter the price of your listing. Choose “Buy it Now” option instead of “Auction”.
Now select the Delivery and Listing Preferences. Make sure that you choose the payment method and accept returns.
Once the information is ready, click on “List with displayed fees“.
3. Provide your payment details.
Verify your existing information and provide your payment details. When you register as an eBay seller, your account details need to be verified. After that you’ll receive payouts directly to your bank account or to your Payoneer account depending on the country of your registration.
When you register as an eBay seller or if you update any relevant information on your account, eBay will confirm your identity, checking account details for payouts, and business details if applicable.
eBay will notify you in My eBay messages and put an alert on your eBay account to let you know that the marketplace is having difficulty verifying your information. In these notifications, eBay will provide details of any additional information needed from you and instructions on how to send it.
If you are creating a personal account, your first name and last name should be the same on your checking account and your eBay account.
You can also visit this eBay section to introduce your billing details.
Once you have followed these steps and eBay verifies your information, you will receive an email letting you know you’re set up.
