Why is my eBay payout missing or failed?

A missing or failed payout usually means the payment process started but could not complete normally. For everyday sellers, that can feel like money disappeared, but the first job is to separate a true failed disbursement from a payout that is simply still pending review.

Failed payouts are often caused by outdated bank details, rejected bank accounts, identity mismatches, negative balances caused by refunds or disputes, or a payments review that stopped release. Sometimes the visible symptom is only that the bank never received the transfer.

Review the payout status in Seller Hub, confirm the destination account details, and check whether any disputes, refunds, or account notices overlap the same period. If eBay shows the payout as failed, update only the data that is actually wrong and monitor for the next retry or instruction.

Do not assume every failed payout is a bank error. If eBay asked for verification or tax data and that request was ignored, the failed payout may only be the consequence of an account compliance issue upstream.
