What is GPSR?
GPSR stands for General Product Safety Regulation. It is an EU regulation that requires many product listings to include mandatory safety-related information.
Common GPSR fields include:
- Manufacturer
- EU responsible person

These requirements apply to many products sold in the European Union.

FAQ (common GPSR questions)
GPSR Amazon: what information is required?
For many EU-bound listings, marketplaces require mandatory safety details such as GPSR manufacturer information, the GPSR responsible person, and a valid contact address. Depending on the product, GPSR warnings and safety information may also be required. If you see it referred to as Amazon GPSR, it is the same GPSR requirement set applied to Amazon listings.
GPSR example: what does it look like on a listing?
A GPSR example typically includes manufacturer details, an EU responsible person, and a valid contact address. See the example fields above for a simple reference format.
Where does HGR get GPSR manufacturer information?
HGR automatically pulls available GPSR data from the Amazon supplier and applies it during the listing process.
Can I set default GPSR details if supplier data is missing?
Yes. European users can set default GPSR information inside HGR configuration settings. These defaults apply only to new listings.
Does GPSR affect existing listings?
No. Existing listings are not changed. Defaults and override rules apply only to new listings going forward.
GPSR eBay: can I reuse the same fields?
Yes. HGR keeps GPSR fields consistent so you can list across marketplaces like eBay with the same compliant information.
When does GPSR apply?
GPSR has been in force since December 13, 2024 for products sold to EU consumers (and Northern Ireland on some marketplaces). If you sell into the EU, your listings may need manufacturer details, an EU responsible person, a valid contact address, and sometimes warnings and safety information.
Does GPSR apply to used or refurbished products?
Often yes. GPSR requirements can apply to second-hand and refurbished items too when they are offered to EU consumers. Requirements vary by product and marketplace, so keeping mandatory GPSR fields consistent on new listings helps reduce compliance risk.
How do I add GPSR information on eBay?
eBay may require manufacturer details, an EU responsible person, and other safety information depending on the category. HGR helps by filling the mandatory GPSR fields during listing when the supplier provides the data, so you avoid manual copy-paste.
Do GPSR warnings and safety information need to be in the local language?
Marketplaces often expect warnings and safety information to be clear to buyers in your target EU country and may require local-language warnings. HGR keeps your GPSR fields consistent on new listings; add any product-specific warnings in the required language for your market.
